CLK 15R – Case Management Coordinator

This is a Contract position in Toronto, ON posted June 15, 2021.

British Columbia has prioritized the goals of protecting children and youth, promoting health and safety, keeping the criminal element out of cannabis, keeping our roads safe, and supporting economic development.

The Community Safety Unit, awarded the 2020 Top Work Unit Award, works under the Policing and Security Branch of the Ministry of Public Safety and Solicitor General, and is responsible for conducting inspections and investigations of illegal cannabis retailers and other related operations to ensure compliance with federal and provincial cannabis laws.

In the role of Case Management Coordinator, you report to the Deputy Director of the Community Safety Unit.

Your key responsibilities are creating all case files, assessing them for accuracy and completeness, and following up for additional information as needed.

As the Case Management Coordinator, you maintain all case files throughout the investigation and inspection process, continuing to update them, track outcomes, and close case files as required.

You will also develop statistical and other reports to allow senior management to make strategic decisions for the unit.

As the Case Management Coordinator, your work helps to ensure that the objectives of the legislation are upheld, including protecting public health nd safety, preventing young people from accessing cannabis, and deterring criminal activity.

This position requires you to be highly organized, capable of prioritizing and managing your workload to meet deadlines, using your outstanding eye for detail to ensure all work is carried out to completion and to a high standard.

You are an effective communicator, able to successfully establish and maintain effective working relationships with a variety of internal stakeholders and demonstrate initiative and good judgment in applying procedures within established policies and guidelines.

Job Requirements: In order to be considered for this position, your application must clearly demonstrate how you meet the education and experience as outlined below: Grade 12 graduation or equivalent.

1 year or more experience providing customer service to the public.

Preference may be given to a candidate with experience providing customer service in an adversarial environment dealing with distressed or upset individuals.

1 year or more experience multitasking in a fast-paced, high-volume environment that involves using a high level of discretion and judgement working with confidential, sensitive information and often difficult individuals or their representatives.

1 year or more experience entering information into databases or case management systems and working with various computer software programs including case management systems and Microsoft office (i.e.

Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Adobe Professional software programs).

Experience ensuring accuracy and completeness of files or case management information with attention to detail.

Preference may be given to candidates with 1 year or more experience working in a provincial government regulatory or investigative environment.
