This is a Contract position in Toronto, ON posted June 16, 2019.

Title: Development Assistant, Canada Location: Toronto, ON Status: Full-Time, Non-Exempt Reports To: Executive Director, Canada Start Date: Immediate Position description: Facing History and Ourselves seeks an energetic and detail-oriented Development Assistant, who will help to support fundraising strategies in Canada that will significantly expand the revenue base of the organization.

The Development Assistant provides effective administrative and operational infrastructure and support for the Executive Directors Development Portfolio, and will work in close coordination with Development Team to provide logistical and communications support for fundraising, Advisory Board, and community outreach events.

The Development Assistant will be responsible for coordination and execution of operational and administrative tasks, and will be responsible for data integrity in Salesforce, including data entry and report generation.

This individual will act as a key member of the Development team, preparing for weekly meetings, distributing weekly financial reports and generally keeping the team communication strong and consistent.

Responsibilities Include: Development Efforts Support the Executive Directors Development calendar and effective and timely communication regarding scheduling and schedule changes, meeting planning, priority of tasks, etc.

Support the Canada team and volunteer leadership in scheduling of and preparation for donor meetings and other related donor contacts/events.

In coordination with Organizational Foundation team, organize and maintain foundation files and calendar Support the Foundation team in research and reporting Ensure Salesforce database records are up to date and accurate.

Run, maintain and distribute weekly reports for the team or upon request Responsible for upkeep and accuracy of master calendar Local Events Work to support fundraising events, including securing venue, catering, AV etc.

Work closely with Development team to coordinate event guest lists and, when applicable, out-of-town staff travel arrangements and logistics, RSVP process, and general support in execution of events.

Ensure that all event information is accurately updated and tracked on the master calendar, the events database and each individual campaign in Salesforce Advisory Board Provide support to the Development team for the local Advisory Board and its subcommittees.

Responsibilities include: organizing logistics for Advisory Board meetings (food preparations, room AV set up,) attending the meeting to track attendance and take detailed notes, updating Salesforce as needed and completing other tasks as requested Essential Skills / Qualities: BA/BS preferred Minimum of 1 year of work experience in administrative support/non-profit/event settings strongly preferred Exceptional organizational skills with strong attention to detail a must Interest in and ability to articulate the mission of Facing History and Ourselves.

Strong familiarity and comfort with database management; Salesforce knowledge preferred Strong written and oral communication skills Excellent computer skills, including experience with Google Suite and Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, Illustrator, Photoshop and social media platforms Creative energy, self-starting with strong attention to detail, and the ability to organize and manage multiple assignments in a busy non-profit setting Ability to work individually and as a member of a team; flexibility Familiarity with education/non-profit settings preferred Leads by example and models behaviors that are consistent with the organizational values.
