Operations Associate

This is a Full-time position in Toronto, ON posted June 26, 2019.

The Opportunity SHIFT started 18 months ago, received venture funding and is snow growing quickly.

You would be coming in at the earliest stage to help us scale.

This is a tremendous opportunity for anyone who wants to learn & grow: Join a small collaborative (11 person) startup, and work with a seasoned team.

This is not our first rodeo.

Make significant contributions to every aspect of the business from day 1.

Help shape SHIFT’s operations and growth, and work closely with the leadership team.

Since we are in the early stages, the emphasis of this role will be high-output doing We are a remote team, but with a strong preference for Toronto.

Responsibilities As it’s early days, you’ll be doing something different every week.

Your job is to deliver the most important thing needed to grow the company in any given week or month.

This is a hands on “doer” role that will expose you to every aspect of a rapidly scaling startup.

You’ll do some measure of all of the areas below, and over time can specialize in a subset: Growth: Implement decisions about systems – for example; advising our growth team on CRM platforms Finance: Inform strategic decisions and implement them; for example – implement new systems such as an invoicing, accounting and expense management; support our CEO in subsequent rounds of fundraising Talent: Run a hiring pipeline; assess applicant tracking systems; make informed decisions on benefits packages Content Marketing: Set up and manage a content marketing channel Legal: Research GDPR requirements & develop strategy for compliance; lead interactions with our lawyers as we negotiate enterprise contracts.

Qualifications We’re not looking for a specific track record of X years of experience doing Y, though 2-5 years out of University is a reasonable guideline.

This role is a combination of strategic learning – you’ll be doing something new every week – and roll-up-your-sleeves to get things done.

We’re looking for someone who is really hungry to learn and grow into more and more responsibility.

You’re a self-starter who is able to juggle multiple projects at once.

You’re organized and and take great pride in seeing projects through to completion.
