ESS Direct Powered by Vertical Staffing is hiring for a well-respected client in Barrie for a Procurement/Purchasing position. This is a full-time permanent position in a progressive environment.
Job Scope:
The Procurement/Purchasing is supporting the Purchasing Team in their day-to-day activities for sourcing, scheduling of products and follow up with suppliers.
Job Responsibilities:
· Supports negotiation of long-term agreements with suppliers and sub-contractors to meet the objectives of the supply chain strategy
· Manage and maintain vendor relationships to create long lasting partnerships while achieving financial goals of the organization
· Communicate with suppliers and internal customers including Receiving, Scheduling, Accounts Payable, Production and Sales departments to ensure a high level of transparency to maximize efficiency
· Schedule part requirements for suppliers for material/services to ensure that delivery schedules are met
· Monitor inventory levels and maintain inventories at all agreed levels
· Investigate inventory discrepancies of parts related to outside services
· Daily performance monitoring of suppliers to ensure that schedules are met
· Maintain product record information to ensure accuracy of purchasing related system parameters in QuickBooks Enterprise. Entering all new invoices into QuickBooks.
· Follow any company procedures and practices developed for the department and help to optimize processes and related procedures
· Follow Company policies and procedures
· Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
· Minimum of 4 year of experience in purchasing and procurement
· Accounting experience using QuickBooks
· Inventory management experience
· People person / approachable / friendly / consensus builder
· Good negotiation skills
· Effective communicator
· Attention to details
· Ability to work under pressure
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office with strong skills in Excel
· Technical background is a plus
· Ability to work in inch and metric system
· Remain current in job related training and upgrading
Working conditions:
· Work is performed in a manufacturing environment both in an office and plant floor
· Appropriate safety equipment must be worn based on the task being performed
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: $50,000.00-$55,000.00 per year
