Law Clerk – Real Estate (Commercial & Residential)

Our client who is one of Canada’s premier business law firms in the GTA that provides strategic legal and business advice in all principal areas of business law, is looking for a Law Clerk – Real Estate  ( Commercial  & Residential )

 

Responsibilities:

Carriage of files from beginning to end Preparation of all related documents for purchase and sale transactions, residential mortgage transactions, routine loan transactions and refinancing Document production in relation to larger property acquisitions, dispositions and financing. Review title searches, request and review off-title searches and draft requisition letters and responses. Deal directly with clients, financial institutions, municipalities, land registry offices and title insurance companies. Prepare reporting letters to clients, promptly following completion of files

Qualifications:

Previous experience in a similar/related role with a solid understanding of the real estate transaction process for both residential and commercial matters Successful completion of Law Clerk program or Institute of Law Clerks of Ontario certification Must be a self-starter possessing excellent writing and communication skills as well as the ability to work with minimal supervision Possess excellent organizational talent along with the ability to multi-task and prioritize Very high level of attention to detail required Proficiency in MS Office 2013, Teraview and Conveyancer Flexibility to work overtime when required
