Safety Improvement Coordinator

Overview AE Concrete specializes in delivering standard and custom civil precast solutions: Water, Electrical and Communication Vaults, Chambers, Trenches, Box Culverts, Street Light Bases, and a variety of custom precast solutions via our in-house engineering team.

About the Opportunity The Safety Improvement Coordinator is responsible for promoting a proactive approach to safety and takes leadership in minimizing health and safety risks throughout the production plant and office, as well as assisting in Quality and Production improvement activities.

Leading initiatives, creating procedures, ensuring safety compliance, and training employees, the Safety Improvement Coordinator takes pride in developing safety protocols with a focus on continual improvement of our health and safety performance.

This position drives our vision to safely manufacture the highest quality precast concrete products, while fostering a culture of caring with our supervisors and employees.

Key Responsibilities Responsible for ensuring compliance and process improvement related to safety in addition to assisting with Quality and Lean Manufacturing Primary lead for all safety program activities, including external communication Investigates health and safety related concerns and make changes to improve processes Responsible to assist in the design and implementation of process and procedures Performs audits and inspects workplaces to ensure, equipment, material and operational practices do not present a health and safety hazard Maintains required process improvement and corrective action logs Acts as a liaison between internal and external sources to gather information and source solutions for operational opportunities Administers site programs as related to safety and process improvement, including but not limited to, continuous improvement, safety data sheets and toolbox talks Performs other duties of a similar nature Professional Experience/ Qualifications At least 1 years in manufacturing, construction or industrial site, preferably precast concrete Demonstrate strong skills in Project Management, including the proven ability to manage small projects and keep focused Intermediate Microsoft Office skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills Experience in Quality, Lean or Safety Incumbent must possess a high level of maturity and exercise sound judgement Continuous improvement certification, such as LEAN, is considered an asset
