Senior Business Partner Employee Experience and Labor Relations

This is a Contract position in Toronto, ON posted January 25, 2023.

This position reports to the Vice-President – Employee Experience Leader, Commercial Banking and Financial Markets The ER/EE Business Partner will advise leaders and employees at the Bank and its subsidiaries across Canada and abroad in the Commercial Banking and Financial Markets groups by managing complex files related to employment rights.

They will make adapted recommendations that take into account the associated risks and employee experience in compliance with policies, the employer’s Code of Conduct and Ethics, labour laws and case law.

They will propose and help implement improvements to processes and practices.

Specifically, you’ll:
• Act as a coach and get involved in various files such as: administrative, corrective and disciplinary measures, reorganization, management of underperformance, changes to employment conditions, dismissals, absenteeism, compliance, security, various investigations and management of complaints related to the working environment
• Coach leaders and employees in settling disputes
• Contribute to the various stages of administrative investigations into cases involving the working environment
• Work in an agile mode and alongside various business partners and Employee Experience colleagues to respond to the Financial Markets and Commercial Banking groups’ priorities
• Understand issues, recommend solutions and implement the initiatives chosen by management, contribute to the preparation of business cases and get the right stakeholders involved in Employee Experience deliverables
• Help develop leaders in how use their leadership
• Analyze KPIs, dashboards, and all other sources of information to identify trends and propose adjustments to strategies in place for ongoing improvements We want to contribute to your quality of life by offering you as much flexibility as possible in your work.

• Completed bachelor’s degree in law or Industrial Relations or in a related field and a minimum of 7 to 10 years of relevant experience OR master’s degree in a related field and 6 years of relevant experience
• Experience in employee relations and in a human resources business partner role and/or equivalent experience
• Knowledge of federal and provincial labour laws
• Experience managing files involving mental health issues, an asset
• Be a member of the Barreau du Québec, an asset
• Experience in roles coaching, advising and influencing managers
