Senior Estimator


This is a Full-time position in Beamsville, ON posted October 24, 2021.

LandArt is a high-end residential landscape construction business located in the heart of the wine country in Beamsville, ON. We service the Golden Horseshoe area, working anywhere from Burlington to Hamilton to Niagara Falls. We are seeking a hard-working individual with a commitment to customer service to join our close-knit team of professionals as a Senior Estimator!SUMMARY: The Senior Estimator is responsible to prepare cost estimates by communicating with suppliers and sub-contractors and by analyzing designs and requirements provided by design team. The Estimator is also responsible for creating accurate contracts and contract addendums.HOURS: 8 AM – 5 PM, five days per week, increased/decreased as neededREPORTS TO: CEO and CFOCOMPENSATION:* Competitive wages based on experience* Health care benefits* Pension planROLES:* Create accurate estimates* Create accurate contracts and contract addendums* Update pricing into estimating software* Update company sales plannerRESPONSIBILITIES:* Prepare work to be estimated by gathering proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents* Identify labor, material, sub-contractor, and time requirements for estimates* Manage sub-contractors and suppliers during the sales process and ensure they have WSIB clearance* Ensure that estimates are prepared accurately and on time* Create contracts for work to be completed* Ensure accurate purchase orders are created for upcoming construction projects* Create contract addendums where applicable* Prepare for and meet with CEO on a weekly basis to report on progress* Regularly input updated pricing into estimating software to generate quotes* Receive and label invoices and compare to purchase orders* Update company sales planner on a weekly basis* Active in furthering education for positionREQUIREMENTS:* 5 years of Estimating Experience in the Construction Industry* Completion of college/university/vocational experience is beneficial* Experience with CoConstruct would be beneficial, but it is not required* Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications, including Excel, and Word* Customer and quality focus* Effective communication skills (both verbal and written)* Team work* Excellent problem-solving abilities* Responsibility and dependability* Ethics and integrity* Carry and use a smart phone or data-enabled device for communication and reporting
