Program Manager, Human Resources (Occupational Health, Safety and Prevention)

THE ROLE

The HR Programs and Services Team oversees legislative programming and requirements, employment and labour relations along with safe and respectful workplace programs.

As an integral member of this team, the Program Manager, Human Resources will hold a portfolio managing and overseeing Workplace Harassment Violence Prevention, Accessibility and Accommodations and all elements of Occupational Health & Safety. These programs shape the employee experience – the policies and projects originating from these areas ensure that employees feel safe, respected and welcome in the workplace.

Along with their team, the Program Manager plans, develops, evaluates and oversees the implementation, monitoring and compliance of human resources policies, procedures and the technical and/or operational aspects of programs/activities. The Program Manager ensures that related policies/procedures/processes are up-to-date, grounded in best practices and good governance principles and are in alignment with organizational, divisional and program strategic objectives associated with all facets of HR Legislation within their portfolio.

The Program Manager, Human Resources will gain exposure and insight into many aspects of Human Resources, complaints and conflict management. They will have a direct impact on the work environment of the CFMWS and will have the opportunity to contribute to projects in a variety of subject areas. This position is well-suited for someone with experience, training or education in occupational health and safety and/or accessibility who is looking for a challenge and to expand their skills and knowledge!

QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED

Education, Certifications and Licenses

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field.

Some years of experience in human resources, project management, or a related field.

Experience

In planning, designing/developing, managing, coordinating and evaluating human resources programs/activities
In conducting research and analysis
In project management
In planning and conducting presentations
In interpreting and applying of program related regulations, and legislation
In developing, drafting, editing, applying, evaluating, interpreting and implementing policies, guidelines and procedures
In providing advice and guidance
In budget administration

Competencies, Skills and Abilities

Client focus, organizational knowledge, communication, innovation, teamwork and leadership.

Bilingual Essential
