Commercial cash management representative – 3-month contract

This is a Full-time position in St Catharines, ON posted October 10, 2019.

Meridian’s Commercial Deposits & Cash Management Team partners with the Commercial Delivery Network to provide comprehensive financial services to address, and exceed, the business banking needs of Business Members and prospects.

Commercial Deposits & Cash Management provides a full suite of financial services to deal with every aspect of Member’s cash and treasury management requirements including but not limited to deposits accounts, investment options, cash and treasury management services, and foreign exchange.

A dedicated, thorough approach provides financial and industry expertise, creative ideas and solutions to enhance Member value.

Commercial Deposits & Cash Management adds value to the Member experience applying subject matter expertise and technical knowledge in the cash and treasury functions within business Member’s operations.

Through a detailed discovery and needs analysis process, this Team supports the achievement of the Commercial Delivery growth objectives through fulfillment of products and services that deepen and strengthen Member relationships, while ensuring profitability for Meridian.

Commercial Deposits & Cash Management is a center of excellence that will ensure Member Satisfaction and legislative compliance in the fulfillment of all cash management business services.

The Team will ensure profitable Member relationships through the development of competitive pricing proposals and by managing a regular review process to maintain ongoing profitability.

Purpose of the Job The Cash Management Representative is accountable to provide centralize support for the delivery and fulfillment of all cash management products and services to Meridian’s business Members and prospects.

Through collaboration with Commercial Delivery Partners the Cash Management Representative will identify and deliver cash management solutions to attract new Members and meet the needs of our existing Members.

The Cash Management Representative is a subject matter expert and will act as a resource within Commercial Delivery in guiding and educating peers on the cash management products and services, and value proposition.

Activities will focus primarily on product and service fulfillment, Member support and Member satisfaction.

There is frequent requirement to liaise with other Meridian employees and departments as well as external contacts, providing information and documentation to Members and staff in the fulfillment of the Cash Management business solutions.

Incumbents will have the opportunity to contribute to the growth of Business Banking that could lead to other career opportunities.

This role will report to the Senior Manager, Deposits and Cash Management Services, Business Banking.

Key Responsibilities Provide support to the Commercial and Small Business Teams in the fulfillment of all cash management business solutions in a timely and professional manner.

Increase profitability of portfolios and fee income through identification of revenue leakage, bringing these situations forward to the Cash Management Specialists for action.

Support Cash Management Specialists in the preparation of high quality cash management proposals, presentations and offer letters as needed.

Assist Cash Management Specialists with the account analysis and pricing recommendation process.

Communicate with external partners to support fulfillment requests for Members Collaborative approach to working with internal partners such as DSS, Investment Operations, Branches, eCAS, Finance and Treasury to ensure timely and accurate fulfillment of solutions for Business Members.

Become the subject matter expert for all cash management business products and services, participating in product development and Meridian projects as appropriate.

Maintain a high level of fluency and knowledge with internal P&P as well as industry legislation that may affect cash management services.

Demonstrated ability to analyze and propose pricing recommendations for business accounts and services.

Independently identify upsell, cross sell and referral opportunities.

Provide support and assistance to the Sr.

Manager, Deposits and Cash Management where appropriate.

Focus on the highest quality Member service, ensuring alignment with overall Meridian and Business Banking goals and objectives.

Ensure all documentation in relation to Cash Management Business Services is completed in an accurate and timely manner in accordance and compliance with all corporate policies, procedures and legislative requirements.

Demonstrate a commitment to continuous learning and development by actively participating in learning initiatives.

Maintain a good knowledge of the cash management competitive landscape.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience 1-3 years progressive experience in Banking, sales/service in a banking, finance environment or like field Strong working knowledge of business process and operations Subject matter expert in the area of Meridian Business Banking P&P’s Post-secondary education in accounting, finance, commerce, business administration, or equivalent would be an asset General understanding of aspects of deposit/cash management business services would be an asset.

Good analytical, relationship, interpersonal, communication, and team skills Solid business acumen coupled with a demonstrated ability to initiate action to achieve results and meet deadlines while respecting fundamental corporate values Good knowledge of banking system and business account operating procedures Ability to work independently with confidence Strong commitment to Member service Strong personal commitment to professional development Computer literate in a windows environment with demonstrated ability to prepare professional correspondence Strong ability to be task oriented and manage to tight timelines around document and preparation and execution Resolve routine to moderately complex problems or issues using standard operating principles escalating where appropriate Develop ability to independently identify routine and general problems or issue Must be comfortable interacting with existing/potential Business Members to Gather information and prepare appropriate documentation Resolve problems, conflict or misunderstandings using tact and discretion Support the Delivery Network in the healthy development of working relationships with Business Members using relevant and appropriate communication vehicles and styles.

Effective and professional communication is required both internally and externally in written and verbal forms.
