Engineering Sales Representative


This is a Contract position in Brampton, ON posted July 7, 2024.

Under the responsibility of the Director of Sales – Central & Eastern Canada, the position holder fulfills the responsibilities linked to Architectural & Engineering support, representation and generating specifications in the Central Region.

  • Is responsible for developing relationships and updating specifications with the architectural and Engineering community;
  • Business management of a designated territory, which is consistent with corporate objectives through special presentations of current and new products and systems;
  • Is responsible for representing the company with various potential customers (Architects, consulting engineers, designers, general contractors, design build firms etc.);
  • Conduct market research to identify new opportunities and stay updated on industry trends;
  • Is responsible for product training, communications with clients regarding technical matters on products, and influences buying decisions of the customers;
  • Is responsible to present a written report to the management on the activities of the territory and provides market intelligence;
  • Conducts cold calls and market solicitation on a regular basis;
  • Industry association involvement (CSC Canada, OACETT, OSPE);
  • Completing presentations to engineering, architectural and design community;
  • Does any other related tasks for the growth of the company.

  • Education: bachelor’s degree in engineering (Civil, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, etc.) accredited by OSPE.
  • Alternatively, a diploma from an accredited Engineering Technologist program.
  • Experience in engineering or architectural sales in a similar industry would be an asset.
  • Sales experience in engineering or industry experience in a role with technical responsibility an asset.
  • Language: English – Ability to explain complex technical concepts in simple terms.
  • Valid driver's license holder.
  • Autonomy, synthesizing mind, curtesy and discernment, communication skills, can work under pressure, negotiating skills, perseverance.
  • Office automation software: Microsoft Suite Office.
  • Mathematical aptitudes, knowledge of the industry standards, knowledge of MAPEI products, quality standards, safety practices, technical writing.
