Membership Sales Representative

At MSTA ( CANADA we’ve spent the last 38 years helping companies in the mining supply and services (MSS) sector grow their business by connecting them with mining operations that need their products and services. We offer a unique opportunity to Canadian suppliers by providing networking opportunities, educating our members, and helping them expand their operations across Canada and internationally. We advocate on behalf of the MSS sector and as a non-profit organization, we’re deeply invested in making the mining supply industry the best it can be. Now we’re looking to add a new member to our team in a brand-new sales role. Our organization’s mission would be impossible without strong membership, and that’s exactly where your sales ability will make a big impact.What You’ll Be Doing:As our new Membership Sales Representative, your main goal will be to grow our membership pool, using your exceptional people skills to get potential members excited about everything we have to offer.Most of your role will involve calling companies (often cold) from a list of prospects, looking for both new memberships and renewals. When you’re not busy on the phone or meeting prospective members directly, you may be required to assist in networking events locally, across Canada allowing you to further engage with potential members in person.No matter what you’re working on, you’ll be organized, disciplined and use a positive attitude and strong communication skills to convert interest into membership.Here are some other things that will be keeping you busy day-to-day:* Expanding our list of potential members through networking and research, both in office and at networking events* Building rapport with potential members and offering them unique, compelling value propositions* Creating and delivering presentations that showcase what our organization can offer* Managing accounts using our CRM software* Following up on leads to close membership salesWhen you get someone on board with our great services, everyone wins. That’s why we’re looking for someone who is motivated to push our organization’s value proposition and help other businesses succeed in the process.Working with MSTA CANADA:This will be a full-time, permanent role (after a three-month probation), with flexible hours Monday to Friday, 40 hours/week. You’ll enjoy three weeks’ vacation to start, and opportunities to work remotely. Our office is located in Mississauga (Hwy 401/Mississauga Rd.).You’ll earn a competitive base salary, commensurate with experience, plus a robust commission structure. By selling between 40-60 memberships per year, your on target annual earnings will be between $60-$70k/yr. This a key role for our organization, and because of that you’ll be reporting directly to the Managing Director of the association.We know that the best salespeople thrive when they have the right support; that’s why MSTA CANADA will make sure that you have everything you need to meet membership quotas. We provide compelling sales scripts for you to base your pitches on; you’ll also receive CRM training (if necessary), and opportunities to work on sales techniques with our team.Joining a small team of just four people, your hard work will always be seen and appreciated.This isn’t a high-pressure sales environment: you’ll have opportunities to learn, improve, and further your sales career, while growing in your role and learning more about our business.What Makes You an Ideal Candidate:If you’re not an expert in the mining industry, don’t worry. We’ll take the time to onboard an exceptional candidate, whether you’re just at the beginning of your sales career, or have many years of experience.Here’s what we need:* Experience in B2B sales (inside or outside sales)* Experience qualifying and closing prospects over the phone* Proficiency with CRM software (any)  * Experience making/delivering sales presentations* Experience/familiarity with trade shows  And here’s what would be a plus:* Bilingualism (English/French)* University degree in sales/marketing or related* Experience in the mining, industrial supply, or a related industry * Driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicleHow to Apply:Our online application gives you the chance to apply as more than just a resume.
