About the job This position is responsible for the CMA’s website: www.Museums.Ca, a key tool for supporting the CMA’s mandate.

The Manager of Web is responsible for continuing to build, maintain and optimize the site.

This involves planning, implementing and reporting on all web-related work.

This position ensures the CMA website is helpful, current, correct, functional and user-friendly and that it interacts well with our membership database.

The position falls within the Public Affairs and Museum Advancement department of the Association and requires coordination with the communications team, as well as collaboration with colleagues across the organization, including membership services.

The Manager of Web’s primary duties include:Maintaining, creating and publishing web products and contentEnsuring the CMA website is helpful, current, correct, functional and user-friendlyEnsuring the website is managed in accordance to best practices and standardsWeb-related support to teams across the CMAWeb analytics, including reports, recommendations and implementationWriting for web, as well as editing and proofing web contentManaging web-related projectsInterfacing with the web-related service providersResponsibility for the CMA’s web content management systemOther related duties as required Qualifications Education and experience screening criteria: Post-secondary education in a field related to the positionA minimum of five years of technical experience designing, maintaining, publishing and analyzing websitesExperience writing and/or editing for web Candidates who are screened in will be assessed on the following knowledge, abilities and personal suitability factors: Knowledge of web industry and UX best practices and trendsAbility to maintain, plan, create and publish web products, content and projectsAbility to evaluate websites for quality assurance and compliance to standards, including accessibilityAbility to use web analytics tools, analyze findings, make recommendations, and act on results to improve user experienceAbility to work on multiple tasks simultaneously, set priorities and meet deadlinesKnowledge of best practices in writing/editing specifically for webAbility to write for web, and to edit, research and proof web contentAbility to communicate effectively, orally and in writingPersonal suitability factors: self-starter, multi-tasker, dependable, quick learner, highly organized, detail-oriented, good judgment, positive attitude Asset qualifications The following are not required qualifications but considered assets: Bilingualism (English and French)Graphic design and multi-media skillsExperience managing websites for a professional associationKnowledge of and/or experience with in1touch, the CMA’s membership database, or similar membership management systems with a web interfaceExperience in email marketing Why you should apply This is an opportunity to: Join a friendly, dynamic, supportive and devoted teamFurther develop your skillsBe part of a non-profit organization that is modernizing and evolvingJoin the cultural sector and support Canada’s museums The CMA offers a competitive full benefits package including an employer-matched RSP program.
