The Director, Global Testing contributes to the overall success of the Global Testing group (formally 1B Testing) by ensuring specific individual goals, plans and initiatives are executed/delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives.

The individual ensures that all activities are conducted in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures.

The mandate of the Global Testing team is to conduct assessments of the design and operational effectiveness of controls across the enterprise as well as to identify areas of opportunity to strengthen the control environment.

Engagement focus is placed on areas of heightened regulatory attention within Non-Financial Risk including, but limited to, AML & Sanctions Risk, Operational Risk, Privacy Risk, and Compliance Risk.

What your role will be: Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge.

In close alignment and collaboration with stakeholder groups, lead the development of the Global Testing scope of work and test programs.

Initiate and execute regular and ad-hoc engagements to assess compliance with policies, procedures, controls and regulatory requirements for Canadian Banking and Global Operations based functions.

Participate in the development and implementation of policies and procedures, reporting systems and internal controls to ensure compliance with regulatory and legislative requirements.

Evaluate, monitor, and report on key risk indicators and key performance indicators.

Develop reports which are concise, timely and provide value to stakeholders, including senior leadership.

Demonstrate functional or proficient working knowledge of the regulatory requirements governing the business line and operations functions.

Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.

Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AML/ATF Global Handbook, and the Guidelines for Business Conduct.

Champion a high-performance environment and work proactively to enhance the efficiency and output of the department Skills you already have: Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in financial services Knowledge of quality assurance processes; AML/ATF compliance experience or ACAMS certification preferred Experience in designing and developing sustainable processes and processes reengineering preferred Proven Leadership experience ideally with remote teams Ability to develop strong working relationships with numerous cross functional support areas and business line executives Excellent project management skills with ability to manage multiple engagements and projects concurrently Strong understanding of regulatory and enterprise requirements Location(s): Canada : Ontario : Mississauga Scotiabank is a leading bank in the Americas.
