This is a Full-time position in Fergus, ON posted September 28, 2021.

ABOUT BURB Burb is bringing the rich culture of BC Bud to the world through our brand portfolio of iconic collaborations and design-forward retail experiences.

With a network of retail stores, a cut/sew apparel line and a weekly podcast hosted by cultural icon, David Hershkovits (founder of papermag.com(http://papermag.com/)), we’re looking for driven and passionate people to join our team as we continue to expand our retail footprint and set the bar for cannabis brands across the globe.

THEOPPORTUNITY As the District Managerfor Burb, you will be responsible for the retail stores in BC.

This includes all aspects of district performance from hitting sales targets, ensuring we have a strong leadership pipeline and the implementation and execution of company initiatives is successful.

You ensure our stores are loaded with amazing talent and we are continuing to coach and develop our people to grow with the business.

This position will report directly to the Head of Retail and work directly with departments through the company.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Coaching and Development You can be found working on the sales floor with your teams, coaching and leading by example, and always looking to spot patterns of opportunity.

You lead and coach your team to continually elevate the retail experience for our customers.

You provide consistent coaching and feedback to hold your team accountable to results; you are accountable for the performance evaluation delivery process for all members of your team.

You are responsible for assessment, training and ongoing development for your Store Managers; you facilitate successful training and performance/development meetings.

You coach your Store Managers in the execution of this within their own teams.

You are in close relationship with your Store Managers and their teams; you are available and accessible for your team and you maintain a constant communication cadence [weekly 1:1s, store visits, etc.].

Operational You identify gaps and opportunities within the retail business and support in creating a strategy for closing those gaps.

You create and support company-wide and district initiatives.

You maintain a close relationship with cross-functional partners to support all aspects of the retail business.

You collaborate to build a strategy for future pipeline needs, considering new store openings, projected turnover, churn, leaves of absence, etc.

Working with the Head of Retail, you support the development and execution of additional projects, duties, and assignments as required and/or by request.

Recruitment You manage and anticipate the needs of your people; you are responsible for your district’s talent planning and recruitment strategy.

You oversee the hiring process for your Store Manager as well as support in the hiring process for all roles in your district.

Recruiting all the way through to compensation, on-boarding and training strategy will allow you to build a diverse team that prioritizes customer experiences and execution of company initiatives.

Budget and Reporting You track and report on the results of your district weekly to the Head of Retail.

You work with FP&A and your Store Managers to proactively forecast sale planning for all store locations and distribute these sales plans to Store Managers.

You manage your district’s P&L, quarterly and yearly sales contributions.

You approve your team’s expense reports, manage your own expensing and budget and approve all SMs P&L disputes.

QUALIFICATIONS You are eligible to work in the BC cannabis industry (Completion of BC Worker Qualification and Selling it Right).

Minimum 4 year’s work experience in multi-store retail management.

University Degree or other post secondary education is an asset.

All employees’ availability must reflect the needs of the business
– this schedule could include mornings, evenings, and weekends.
