This is a Full-time position in Ottawa, ON posted June 22, 2019.

MASC English Program Director In its 29th year, MASC is a dynamic, midsized charitable organization that works with 140 professional artists from diverse cultural backgrounds.

They work in schools and community settings, offering experiences of artistic excellence and creative process that awakens creativity, deepens awareness and encourages understanding. Performances and workshops are offered in English and French in Eastern Ontario and Western Quebec, across all artistic disciplines. The English Program Director is responsible for establishing and maintaining positive relationships with artists, school board and community partners, with concern for providing consistent, high-quality service. They will be responsible for the development of MASC’s English program, managing a professional artist roster who will offer culturally diverse programs that meet the needs of the clients. They will be responsible for organizing events in partnership with English school boards and community partners and within the MASC organization. They will carry out these duties in partnership with the Executive Director(s), the French Program Director and the Bookings Coordinator.

RESPONSIBILITIES Artistic Direction
· Visioning and developing MASC’s English program
· Ensuring excellence of the English program: selecting artists to join the MASC roster, evaluating the quality of, and supporting development of artists’ programs
· Planning professional development for artists
· Development of support material for artists’ programs Partnership and Communications
· Developing and maintaining partnerships with schools and community organizations
· Manage projects with these partners.
· Write grants and reports to support programs developed with these partners. 
· Administration of the English Residency program, including allocating subsidies
· Developing and implementing communications and marketing strategies 
· Creating the annual English MASC School and Seniors brochures, direct marketing materials; social media posts; press releases and newsletter articles Event Management Your StoryThe English Program Director will be responsible for the artistic, logistical, technical and financial management of this event.Held in February, Your Story brings together students in grades 8 to 12/sec V who attend one day of hands-on creative workshops led by some of Canada’s finest authors and illustrators of teen literature.

MASC Arts AwardsWorking with the Executive Director and a volunteer committee, the English Program Director will be responsible for the logistical, technical and financial management of this event.Students are nominated for a MASC Arts Award by teachers and principals for their passion for the arts and are awarded scholarships, prizes and mentorships to further their artistic practice.

Students will be celebrated at a Gala evening at the National Arts Centre in May 2020. QUALIFICIATIONS
· Arts or Administration diploma, or equivalent combination of work and education
· Sound knowledge of the arts and education community (in Ontario and Québec)
· Experience writing grants and reports 
· Bilingualism is an asset 
· A minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar position
· Proficient with Excel, Word, One Drive and Outlook
· Familiar with Filemaker Pro or similar database system
· Very good understanding of data base systems, such as Filemaker Pro IDEAL CANDIDATE PROFILE
· Organized and efficient

· Detail-oriented
· Team player
· Works well under pressure
· Very autonomous WORK PARAMETERS
· This position is 5 days a week, 44 weeks a year, from the end of August to the end of June, renewable each year.
· Occasional evening and weekend work are required.
· Salary: $23.50 $25.75 per hour (commensurate with experience)
