As the Production Supervisor, you will lead all production and operating processes in your assigned area.

More importantly, you will manage an engaged team that will safely and efficiently deliver on production targets.

You will ensure that safety, quality, cost, delivery, and yield objectives are met.

You will lead continuous improvement and build world class culture around operational excellence and risk management.

The position is based in Acheson, Alberta just 15 minutes west of Edmonton in a newly developed industrial area.

Responsibilities Supervise, lead, and engage production team on a daily basis, while leveraging experience and expertise to make sound decisions related to critical production issues.

Implement our operational processes to create a safe environment and effective use of asset to achieve production goals.

Maintains the flow of product as per production requirements, customer specifications and productivity targets.

Monitor overall operational results such as yields, efficiencies and cost figures and takes appropriate action to stay on track with budgets and other agreed targets.

Ensure safety of the production facility by collaborating with other Leaders to drive towards a zero-harm culture.

Ensure operational compliance with food safety and quality are met.

Provide leadership and mentor our team allowing development of strong leaders at all levels to ensure succession and capability for a more diverse workforce.

Cultivate a culture of continuous improvement together with timely root cause analysis of non-standard conditions.

Ensure ongoing review of key performance indicators with focus on continuous improvements in site operational targets.

Leads by example utilizing the Company’s Core Values as the basis of critical decisions.

This includes following Company policies, standards and specifications.

Provide a safe, harmonious, non-threatening work environment to his/her Team Members which promotes productivity and creativity.

Ensure compliance with all applicable legislation and codes in all areas of plant including WCB, HACCP, WHMIS, & Workplace H&S.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements 3-5 years supervisory experience in production; preferably within the Food & Beverage industry.

Proven mechanical aptitude and adept with tools and equipment.

Strong critical thinking ability with sound judgment, decision-making skills, good problem identification and problem resolution skills.

Good communication skills, both verbal and written.

Excellent time, organization and prioritization skills.

Strong interpersonal skills with ability to develop and maintain successful working relationships with diverse individuals/groups.

Certification and/or ability to operate a forklift.

Ability to pass a Drug & Alcohol and Fit-to-Work test.

Ability to clear a Criminal Record Check and provide references.
