Site Address: Employment Type: Full Time Expiration Date: 05/04/2019 The Revera Resource Centre at the Ottawa Hospital Civic Campus was opened to help staff, patients and their families navigate through the complicated world of retirement.

The Centre offers information to help answer the most commonly asked questions when seniors and their families are faced with making the decision about a move into Retirement or Long Term Care.

The Centre offers a trusted Advisor on Retirement along with resources from many different groups in the Community.

It is a Centre to offer support and advice when seniors and their families, or even hospital staff, are searching for answers on Retirement.

The Manager – Hospital Relations is responsible for developing, managing and implementing community relations strategies for the Revera Resource Centre at the Ottawa Civic Hospital.

In addition, this role will support Discharge Planners and Social Workers by providing same day assessment services and advice to direct prospective residents/family members to the Revera residence best suited for their specific needs.

This role will require a professional individual with a strong understanding of the retirement and care sectors.

With a passion for seniors, a balance between strong assessment skills and good judgement, exceptional customer service, this compassionate individual will support prospective residents and family members through this delicate transition.

Key Responsibilities: Responsible for building all relationships within the Hospital community including those with the Hospital and Foundation Executives, the Social Workers, Nurses and all other groups within the hospital.

Support Discharge Planners and Social Workers by providing same day assessment services and advice to direct prospective residents/family members to the Revera residence best suited for their specific needs.

Keep informed of the events going on at the hospital and bring opportunities forward to the Regional team.

Look for new opportunities to better utilize our space at the hospital to bring in traffic and provide new informative resources to the staff, patients and their families.

Bring forward ideas for seminars/learning sessions/clinics to the Regional team and will ultimately plan these events to take place within the Centre.

Build relationships with many municipal/provincial/federal agencies, foundations, or groups in the Ottawa area and work with these groups to allow them to display their collateral at our Resource Center and become a trusted advisor when it comes to providing answers to many commonly asked questions by seniors and their families about these resources.

Welcome staff, patients and their families, and the general public to the Centre and conduct a thorough discovery process to be able to direct potential new residents to the appropriate Retirement Community.

Maintains, updates and grows the Yardi referral sources database Partners with Sales Consultant to facilitate a seamless transition for potential residents and a positive integration in their supportive residence.

Required Education, Credentials and Experience: Current registration as a Registered Practical Nurse from the applicable provincial professional regulatory body Minimum of five (5) years of relevant clinical experience Must be proactive and self-disciplined with strong organizational skills Must have a high degree of interpersonal skill which would enable the incumbent to deal successfully with clients, community and agency contacts Must demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills Creative, outgoing and energetic personality Must have empathy for, and an understanding of, the needs of seniors Strong computer skills, technology savvy and comfortable using Microsoft Office and a CRM system Strong organizational skills Retirement Industry experience/knowledge is an asset Bilingual in English & French is an asset Values of Respect, Integrity, Compassion & Excellence What We Offer: Support from your Regional and National Team Technology to help you do your job better Benefits and Pension Package Better work life balance What are you waiting for?
