The Manager, Product Management, Label Printers oversees and actively manages the entire product life cycle(s) of the assigned label printer product lines with the goal of driving growth and revenue through evolving the Brother Mobile Solutions (BMS) product portfolio.

This position is responsible for the following functions: product development, product management, product launch, and product enablement post-launch.

By partnering with marketing, engineering, service, and sales, this role acts as a subject matter expert on the product to meet sales demands and grow the business.

Additionally, this role performs market research to develop business plans, determine strategic product positioning, and drive new ventures, initiatives, and product marketing strategies.

This role works closely with other team members to drive major launch activities through B2C & B2B channels, adjusting tactics to focus on maximum growth.

After product launch, this role also manages enhancements and derivates based on customer requirements and market understanding.

This role may travel up to 30-40%.Duties and Responsibilities The Manager is expected to have proficient knowledge and execution ability in the following functions: Product Development Develop business plans and market-leading innovative product offerings Manage market research & perform competitive analyses in order to understand the customer’s point of view Research latest technology trends & interact with end-users, vendors, resellers, and independent software vendors (ISVs) to stay up-to-date on industry knowledge Utilize market research to inform strategic product recommendations Interact with various internal teams, including but not limited to: Product Management, Engineering, Marketing, Sales & Brother Japan Product Planning teams Attend and participate in regularly scheduled international conference calls Product Management Manage the complete product life cycle(s) of assigned products Drive continued growth by evolving current products and introducing new products Create Marketing Requirement Documents, Product Specifications and Product Requirement Documents Manage business-critical product management processes such as: product roadmaps & vision (extending out at least 5 years), key product messaging, unique value propositions, competitive pricing methods, end of life planning, return-on-investment (ROI) & total cost of ownership (TCO) sales tools, and market/application positioning Product Launch Drive major product launch activities in conjunction with other marketing team members Provide product expertise & guidance to help execute on key launch processes, including but not limited to: web presence, search engine optimization (SEO), pay per click (PPC), promotions, competitive analysis, presentations, digital advertising, email campaigns, channel marketing & communication, public relations, trade shows & sales/ partner/customer service trainings Provide support for all product related responsibilities, including the Product Launch Process, demand generation activities, the development of training presentations, collateral material, and the early adopter programs Product Enablement Manage and execute on enhancements and derivatives for products, based on customer/market requirements Research, generate and deliver solution ideas that solve customer problems, working closely with engineering teams (both local and Japan), reseller partners, and software partners to deliver solutions that solve customer problems Experience Minimum 7 years A combination of relevant experience in the following areas: Experience independently executing on full-cycle product management, including development, strategy, launch, and enablement Experience working cross-functionally to deliver strong product marketing campaigns across multiple channels Experience with business planning & analysis in support of new product introduction Experience interfacing with customers, partners, sales teams, vendors, and other stakeholders Education Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent experience) in Engineering, Business, Marketing, or related field preferred Software/Technical Skills Technical product expertise, preferably in the mobile printer/labeler product category Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel) Other Skills/Knowledge/Abilities Ability to think creatively, aggressively, and analytically to translate market/customer requirements into solutions, products, derivatives, features, business cases, and cost/benefit analyses Novice ability in the following areas: developing business plans & proposals, developing strategic product vision, and supporting channel pricing Proficient ability in the following areas: performing market research, developing competitive analyses reports, developing product specifications, maintaining product roadmap & 5 year plan, defining markets/applications, and supporting tradeshows Ability to define key market segments/customers to conduct validation activities Ability to work cross-functionality and build relationships across varying teams, both domestically and internationally Ability to manage a budget Ability to present at all levels of the organization and to customers Compensation & Benefits The salary (or hiring) range for this position is $104,700
– $178,000 per year Starting salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant, internal equity and alignment with market data This position is eligible to participate in the relevant annual Brother Bonus Plan.
