Job Description Our client, a world-class leader in the automotive manufacturing sector is currently seeking an experienced Materials Supervisor/Manager for their facility in the London ON area.

This position requires a motivated, co-operative self-starter who can balance multiple tasks in a large volume, fast-paced environment.

Leading the Materials, Project, and Logistics areas, the Materials Supervisor/Manager will assist, direct, and coach the area’s Leaders. Responsibilities and Job Duties:Provide instruction, guidance and leadership to employees by assisting in solving day today problems while following the policies and procedures of the company Plan and direct the utilization, maintenance and use of all machinery, equipment and manpower to achieve the most effective resultsContribute to continuous improvement and cost reduction activitiesEnsure that both short & long term planning is established for department in the areas of operating and capital budgets, manpower planning, cost reduction plans, quality, safety, environmental and employee satisfaction Provide training and work instructions in the areas of Health & Safety, TS 16949, ISO14001, etc.Be responsible and accountable for meeting departmental objectivesReport and react to departmental Key Performance Indicators Monitoring of performance appraisals, performance feedback and progressive disciplineEnsure departmental compliance to all health and safety procedures / standardsEnsure that workplace inspections are conducted and unsafe conditions are addressedEnsure that all accident/incident investigations are completed and corrective actions are implementedAlong with the Management team, assist in the planning of key programs and activities, i.e.

manpower, layoffs, etc. Ensure information is communicated throughout the department in an efficient mannerAssist in the preparation of the yearly departmental budgetPerform other duties as assignedQualifications:
· A minimum of 5 years related experience within an automotive JIT setting 
· Relevant post-secondary education, preferably in Materials Management 
· Experience leading a large group, including Team Leads, Forklift Operators and Materials Associates
· Excellent interpersonal, organization, motivational and team building abilities
