Production control manager

This is a Full-time position in Kitchener, ON posted June 17, 2019.

Our client is looking for an experienced, exceptional Production Control Manager to lead their department.

Your role is to ensure that production schedules are met and shipments to customers are completed on time.

You will work closely with the purchasing, production and shipping departments.Who You AreA self starter, able to work independently without the need for constant monitoringWilling to accept ownership for the role and understand how critical the position is to organizationA natural leader that has exceptional communication skills, able to work with, manage and develop your team.Able to work as an integral part of the management team, relaying information, communicating and making strong decisions.Experienced, not easily influenced by others, able to evaluate and assess data in real time, comfortable with managing a large number of SKUsDuties & ResponsibilitiesDevelop demand forecasts (operational forecasts) at multiple levels of aggregation for multiple time horizons as part of a demand planning function. Hire, train, develop, coach and review Production Control Department team to ensure structure and staffing level are in line with current and future business requirements.Analyze and revise production plans as required.Establish key performance indicators of forecast accuracy.Schedule demand based on the product mix and provide accurate commitment dates to customer service team across multiple product linesAssemble master schedule reporting regarding performance to the business plan, the shipment plan, the inventory plan, and the production plan.Analyze production floor status through input/output control reporting.Maintain reports for production planning activities and sequences.Communicate production status to the Operations Team on a daily basisAdministrative work as requiredWork in compliance with Health & Safety rules and regulationsEducational RequirementsPost-secondary education in a related fieldAPICS/CPIM designation preferredWork Experience Requirements3-5 years’ experience in a similar rolePrevious supervisor experiencePrior experience working in a manufacturing environment, similar industryexperienceExperience with continuous improvement principles and the documentation ofprocessDemonstrated problem-solving, organizational and time management skillsDemonstrated competency in both written and verbal communicationTechnical requirementsProficiency with Microsoft OfficeERP System (Syspro preferred)Key CompetenciesTime management, organization and prioritizationIntegrity and AccountabilityAttendance and PunctualityDriving ResultsStrategic thinkingTeam OrientedExcellent organizational and communication skillsProblem solving, decision-making, and critical thinking skillsAbility to meet deadlinesInformation management skillsOther Job RequirementsOutstanding communication, negotiations and presentation skills is a must have.Identifying and understanding issues, problems and opportunities.Ability to work in a fast-paced environmentExperience with lean manufacturing principles an assetEffectively managing one’s time and resources to ensure that work is completedefficiently.Excellent communication and listening skills.Ability to work independently or with a cross-functional team.Attention to detail, able to work efficiently and with accuracy while faced withinterruptions.Work in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and regulations.
