Project Manager, Translation

About the Role

The Project Manager is responsible for coordinating projects with both clients and internal team members. As a result, the Project Manager is the frontline relationships manager charged with preserving, improving and occasionally establishing new client and resource relationships. The position ensures that translation projects are completed within specified deadlines while maintaining quality and other requirements of the project. Additionally, the Project Manager will also have general administrative tasks.

Main Responsibilities

  • Supporting and assisting with the entire project cycle, including quotations, coordination of translators, interpreter booking, invoicing, etc.
  • Working in conjunction with sales team to ensure seamless service offerings
  • Assisting in the planning and coordination of both external and internal resources
  • Ensuring all client requirements are met, from quality and formatting, to timeline and if necessary, troubleshooting
  • Planning and tracking project pricing, profit margins and budgets
  • Responding and providing solutions to client queries and requests before, during and after completion of projects
  • Improving customer service, efficiency and relationships with resources
  • Management of client translation memories
  • Monitoring linguistic team performance to ensure quality and consistency
  • Achieving overall customer and resource satisfaction and retention
  • Requirements / Desired skills

  • Previous experience in a project coordination position (1 year or more)
  • Experience with translation management software and translation memory software
  • Post-secondary degree in translation
  • Fluent (excellent written and spoken skills) in English and French (preferably Canadian French)
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office and Google Work applications
  • Superb planning and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication/customer service skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Advanced multitasking skills
  • Ability to work under pressure in a deadline driven environment
  • Strong sense of personal responsibility for projects and responsibilities
  • Previous Experience with Law Firms/Legal projects is an asset
