PTAG: Project Manager


This is a Full-time position in Bowmanville, ON posted August 27, 2020.

PTAG is currently seeking Project Managers who will provide project management support for projects in the following areas: Nuclear plant modifications, Nuclear infrastructure projects, such as building of nuclear waste storage facilities, Development and delivery of advanced inspection tools, Non-nuclear infrastructure projects such as building of office buildings, and general building improvements.

Location: Clarington, ON Type of Employment: Full Time Responsibilities: Prepare specifications or scope of works for purchasing requisitions for material, services, and equipment Provide leadership in selection and performance management of vendors including Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Consultants and OEMs Endorse contract strategies and procurement processes for each project Support procurement decisions by reviewing proposals received from internal or external sources related to assigned area(s) of responsibility and making appropriate recommendations to management for individual projects Support approval of new contract awards or contract changes Prepare and facilitate approval of business case for the release of project funds Perform overall integration in areas of planning, finance, engineering, estimating, drafting, installation, quality control, radiation protection, safety, security, materials management, cost and schedule control, commissioning, and documentation Implement project technical work/solutions, and initiate the acquisition of appropriate approvals, as required in support of the operation and maintenance of the site Provide oversight of vendor performance and cost within approved envelopes including approval of contractor budgets, support dispute resolutions, support vendor concerns as first point of escalation Provide appropriate escalations within management to resolving issues or minimizing risks Monitor actual project costs and investigate and explain variances.

Identify and maintain project risk registry within appropriate risk registry with proper rankings Lead the application of quality principles to the project Ensure close alignment with design organization and enforcement of formal engineering change control process Maintain relationship with various departments at site, supporting organizations and keep up to date with applicable procedures.

Initiate studies or investigations where technical issues or opportunities for improvement are apparent.

Integrate work management and work control processes to integrate with site priorities.

Prepare appropriate monthly forecasts and participate in monthly portfolio review cycles Provide oversight in ensuring schedule accuracy and reflecting milestone performance Ensure collective agreements and jurisdictional precedents for the purpose of assigning work to appropriate trade and/or industrial bargaining group are maintained for projects Participate in appropriate training programs to maintain qualifications and staff development required to deliver projects with quality.

Ensure compliance of all requirements in delivery Requirements: BSc/BA degree in a relevant field (Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management) One or more years experience as a Project Manager in the Nuclear Power Industry Understanding of current project management techniques and methods Have a good understanding of nuclear safety and have nuclear experience to be able to execute efficiently and effectively in the nuclear environment.

Understanding and experience in requirements of Nuclear Quality Management Excellent knowledge of MS Office; Working knowledge of program/project management software (P6, MS Project, Ecosys, Prism, Risky Project, SharePoint etc.) is a strong advantage Outstanding leadership and organizational skills Excellent communication skills Excellent problem-solving ability PTAG is growing and seeking professionals who want to join a fast paced, innovative, and team-oriented Program Management Firm.
