They will accomplish this through leading, delegating, supporting, and overseeing all work related activities of the Technical Service Staff. RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIESLead a team of service technicians to execute on various scopes of work, solve customer communications problems and to surpass customers’ expectationsAssist in the development and implementation of departmental goals, objectives, policies and proceduresLead the investigation and correct service related errors and areas that need improvementConduct job observations and quality control audits of technical staffFacilitate employee development and trainingLead by example and provide employees with mentorship and guidanceQuote all service work either directly to customers or through sales for serialized productsReview quotes and projects before implementationReview all service related actual to estimate data after the completion of service quotes or for quoted projectsFacilitate and lead all work activities in assigned areasEnsure all data from technicians are submitted and entered into the business system accurately and in a timely manner including LEM’s, work orders, incidents, etc.Ensure service related invoicing is completed in a timely mannerReview and approve service order inputFacilitate weekly toolbox talksMaintain cleanliness and organization of service shop and bay areasEnsure equipment inspections, maintenance, and service is completed (Fleet Vehicles and Company Tools)Ensure there are regular team meetings to communicate all applicable company informationEnsure safety and maintenance deficiencies identified in Safety inspections are corrected in a timely fashionMaintain strong customer relationships and solicit feedback from customers on completion of work to ensure customer satisfaction is maintained at a high levelSolicit and follow up on new opportunities, whether for service, sales or any other departmentPerform pre and post job scrubsStay abreast of new trends and innovations in telecommunications, and adjust service offerings to accommodate themMonitor Service and other company metrics, taking actions for improvementMonitor productivity; liaise at the start and end of each day to get job/task status updatesEmphasis on advanced planning and anticipating roadblocks in order to prevent them or prepare accordinglyWork with Manager to support fiscal responsibility of the teamAdhere to and enforce the Corporate Health & Safety program and ensure all Technical Services Staff adhere to its rules, policies, processes, practices and procedures QUALIFICATIONSEducationDiploma or Bachelors Degree in Electronics Engineering Technology, Wireless System Engineering Technology or Communication Technician Certificate required.

A combination of relevant education and experience will also be considered Experience and Training3 + years of experience as a supervisor and/or manager in telecommunications installation and service5 + years of direct hands on experience in Radio and Two-Way communicationsRemote Management experience a definite assetEquivalent on the job experience acquired within a related technology service based business.Knowledge of products and services offered by Tridon CommunicationsKnowledge of the theories, principles, and practices of planning required for program and project developmentSafety standards related to office, shop and store environmentsValid Alberta Class 5 Operator’s License or equivalent SkillsStrong business acumenStrong customer service, problem solving and decision making skillsStrong interpersonal and relationship building abilityProficiency in computer programs such as Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and computer databasesStrong written and verbal communication skillsEffective listening and interpersonal skillsAbility to work independently and as a teamAbility to multi task and be detail orientatedProven ability to develop, lead and manage technical teams to achieve set goals Physical DemandsThe Service Manager must be able to spend the majority of the day sitting and/or standing.

They may be required to stoop, bend, kneel and squat for extended periods of time; and carry equipment weighing up to 50lbs for short distances.

The incumbent will also be required to look at a computer screen for extended periods of time.

There is a possibility of eye and/or joint strain related to operating computer equipment.
