Supervisor – Industrial and Facility Maintenance

This is a Full-time position in The Nation, ON posted February 4, 2020.

WHAT TO EXPECT: Under the responsibility of the Production Director, the Facility Management and Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for the good operation of the building maintenance department including internal, external and manufacturing facilities.

He is in charge of all activities and management of preventive and corrective maintenance projects for the entire building including the production plant.

He is also responsible for overseeing and coordinating the work of a multidisciplinary team, to ensure effective and quality service to other departments.

The Supervisor is also responsible for managing financial, human and material resources for the department and ensures that the various objectives of the company are met.

YOUR CHALLENGES: Provide day-to-day management of activities related to building maintenance management, facilities and specifically at the production plant level; Ensure rigorous management of preventive maintenance and update the plan in place as needed; Analyze and prioritize corrective action requests (work orders) and monitor them; Coordinate the work of the maintenance team by establishing work schedules; Respect and implement policies and laws related to health and safety at work; Manage and supervise various mechanical, electrical or building repair projects up to term; Set up and lead new projects that fall under the maintenance department; Produce reports and provide performance indicators for management; Ensure relationships with various external consultants and determine needs with them; Suggest and implement various facilities management special projects; propose ideas for improvement and actively participate in their implementation; Participate in the determination of annual objectives and monitor them; Analyze and approve service requests related to facility maintenance; Participate in the process of recruiting new employees, including the taking over and training of new employees; Respond to ventilation, heating and temperature needs throughout the factory, shop, restaurant, refrigerated warehouses and administrative offices; Purchase materials and equipment necessary for the proper functioning of the facilities; Any other related tasks requested by the Production Director.

WHAT YOU HAVE: Hold a diploma or training in mechanical, industrial, or building maintenance.

A combination of education, training and relevant work experience may be considered equivalent; Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in a similar position, including supervision duties; Have experience in an industrial setting, preferably in a food environment; Have extensive project management experience; Be available outside regular working hours according to operational needs; Great sense of leadership; Problem solving and decision-making ability; Strong communication skills ; Resourcefulness; Open-mindedness ; Self-reliant; Planning and organizational skills; Knowledge of MS Office;
