Vice President Operations The TCS Group of Companies is seeking a VP of Operations within our busy, expanding, third-party logistics organization.Located on the banks of the Bay of Quinte, Trenton Cold Storage offers customized cold storage, temperature-controlled warehousing, and distribution since 1902.

With seven warehouse facilities in Ontario and two in Alberta, Trenton Cold Storage provides Canada with more than 32,000,000 cubic feet of cold storage and refrigerated warehouse space.Reporting to the President, the Vice President of Operations will be responsible for contributing to the successful operation and contribute to the company’s advancement through innovative initiatives that reduce cost, increase productivity and profitability.

As a member of the Leadership Team, the Vice President of Operations shall participate in the development of Trenton Cold Storage’s priorities and objectives.The VP of Operations is responsible for the financial health and performance of Trenton Cold Storage and the success of its operations.The successful candidate will be a role model in demonstrating our culture, core values, and a genuine concern for others.

As an effective leader, they will not only anticipate roadblocks that their team may encounter but also inspire them to think differently and ensure that they keep the customer and colleagues top of mind in every decision they make and every process they implement.Accountabilities:
·Provide vision and leadership that encourages growth and safeguards the assets and financial viability of the company.
·Oversee overall operational aspects including the storage, handling, and logistics at all locations as well as engineering and maintenance of all facilities.
·Establish performance goals such as productivity, labor management, customer and warehouse KPIs, and profitability.
·Work with the Director of Operations and the Director of Engineering and Maintenance to plan and review annual operating and capital budgets.
·Plan, staff, and oversee all assigned work unit activities through Director of Operations and Director of Engineering and Maintenance to ensure a cohesive operational unit.
·Develop, manage, and nurture new business accounts and partnerships to accomplish profit, revenue, and volume goals.
·Execute operational plans to meet sales and capacity goals and profitability targets.

·In keeping with the culture, demonstrate and encourage teamwork and cooperation with all departments.
·Ensure that the business complies with all company and government regulations regarding the proper treatment of employees and a safe work environment.

Ensure compliance and reporting with TSSA and CFIA and all other government agencies regulating the temperature-controlled third-party logistics industry.

·Provide support to any number of projects from an operational, financial, and resource standpoint.
·Lead, develop and coach Directors and Managers to achieve their potential.
·Maintain and build relationships with existing and potential customers and suppliers.
·Act, as needed, in a Leadership role in the absence of the President.Role requirements:At least 10 years of senior management experience in large, multiple location operations preferably in the warehousing or food industry.

Able to work effectively in an entrepreneurial, collaborative environment.Able to lead and motivate teams of different sizes and complexities with an ability to create a positive team atmosphere that fosters collaboration and trustPossesses a strong blend of both strategic and operational capabilities with a proven ability to develop and execute short and long-term plans in line with corporate strategic objectives.A strong understanding of the competitive landscape in order to recognize and capitalize on opportunitiesProactively confronts and resolves issues and is able to influence and help the organization adopt new ways of thinking.Must be comfortable and competent in a range of venues when there is a need to represent the organization at the request, or in the absence, of the President.The successful candidate must alsoBe available for travel as requiredBe able to work in excess of stated office hours to get the job done.Possess a technical or business administration degree or equivalent (advanced degree preferred).
